As you know Australia is a very large island (a bit bigger than the whole Europe) with MERG members distributed across every state. New Zealand is approximately 1,000 miles from the east coast of Australia. Within Australia, we have the normal Area Groups who meet physically as well as two virtual groups that enable those members without a local group to join like-minded members via a virtual meeting. Within Australia and New Zealand time zones, we also have a Special Interest Group (SIG) for members to share their CBUS knowledge and experience to assist each other on their journey. Please see below for the various Groups. To join a Group it is very important that after you join MERG you register for a group or groups in the Profile area. This will ensure you will receive emails from the Group coordinators.

This Special Interest Group exists for members to share their CBUS knowledge and experience to assist each other on their journey. The intent is to ease the journey for those of us in Australia and New Zealand otherwise hampered by a low density of users and a timezone difference of nearly 12 hours to the UK. The focus is the usage of CBUS, either independently or using other software such as JMRI.
